Fall came and went, SWOOSH! For some reason I never seem to get my schedule coordinated with the seasons, so now it is winter and although I should have peas, broccoli and the like in my garden, instead I am shopping at the grocery store and farmers markets.
What I did manage to get through the winter so far is a stalwart tomato plant, a couple of new rosemary bushes with which I hope to make many yummy dinners in the coming spring and summer, and a pepper plant with a beautiful red and yellow crown.
....And then there's the 2 month old seedlings out by the back door that are awaiting transplanting, along with lots of volunteer sprouts in the compost pile, all begging to be moved to a proper garden each weekend, only to be ignored again, overshadowed by a birthday, a sporting event, or a quick weekend trip.
To make up for a neglected garden and to salve my soul I started some yummy spouts inside; a micro mix and a spicy mix, both of which will be a great salad addition soon. And then I'll have NO excuse not to get back out in the garden, finish the micro sprayer installation, finish building the raised island's back wall, and get some seeds in the ground!
