Beach Time

Spending two days on the Atlantic Ocean gave me a renewed appreciation of Mother Nature, as well as bringing our modern world directly into the natural sphere.  Hurricane Danny had slid by the Florida coast, but the surf was wild, foamy and beautiful.  Slowly over the two days I watched as the waves returned to their normal lap, laping of the shoreline, and the many sea birds found their lunch along the edges of the lacy foam.

Also viewed was the (possibly) last shuttle launch, which against a backdrop of distant lightening, turned the midnight beach into early evening shadows and lit the sky for many minutes after liftoff as it arched away into the heavens.  What a spectacular view I enjoyed from my oceanfront hotel balcony!
